What is Rope Access?

Rope access is a system for working at heights. It utilizes certified technicians, ropes and other specialized equipment to allow for efficient and safe access of difficult to reach locations.

Rope access can provide a number of advantages over scaffolding, aerial work platforms (AWP) and other traditional access methods.

Cost-effective

Scaffolding can be expensive, obtrusive and takes considerable time to erect and dismantle.

Aerial work platforms (AWP), such as articulated boom lifts and scissor lifts, have expensive rental fees and are limited by their parking footprint and maneuverability in tight areas.

With minimal equipment and quick set up/dismantle times, rope access allows workers to get to and from difficult locations swiftly thereby reducing man-hours when compared to these other means of access.

Quick & Efficient

With the rapid deployment of access systems and the ability to remove equipment daily, there is: minimized downtime, a smaller impact on the environment and less interference for business operations.

Greater Flexibility

Rope Access systems can be quickly established and removed offering greater flexibility for rescheduling, change in locations, weather conditions or job scope.

Safety is the most important aspect of any rope access job. Careful planning and risk assessment are undertaken for each job by independently-certified rope technicians.

Rope access follows strict safety controls and procedures outlined by both industry standards and Work Safe BC OHS regulations.

Equipment is inspected prior to each job and is required to meet Canadian and/or international standards.
